Reps, Not Wishes: The Only Way Standards Become Real
WHY "TRYING HARDER" FAILS
Effort without structure becomes emotion.
Without a system, your emotions decide. Tired? You skip. Stressed? You skip. Great mood? You overdo it. Then you crash.
A system decides before the emotion shows up.
THE DISCIPLINE EQUATION
Discipline becomes predictable when you combine four things:
•Standard: what "good" means.
•Rep: the smallest unit of action.
•Score: proof.
•Review: adjustment.
Miss one, and the equation breaks.
MAKE IT SO SMALL YOU CAN'T NEGOTIATE
The rep should be small enough that excuses sound silly.
Examples:
•10 push-ups
•5 minutes of writing
•One healthy meal
•One page of reading
Small rep. High standard.
WISHES VS REPS
A wish says: "I want to be strong." A rep says: "20 minutes of cardio today."
A wish says: "I want to be calm." A rep says: "10 minutes of meditation before work."
A wish says: "I want to be wealthy." A rep says: "Track every expense this week."
Write your wishes. Then turn each one into a rep.
